In a company called Community Reading Club Of Southern California called me up on my Cell Phone talking about great deals on Magazine Subscriptions. At first, the lady I talked to on the phone told me that I only have to pay one 39.99 once a year. So I thought that was a great deal and she also promised to give FREE gas card etc... For having their Subscription.
A couple of months later, I notice on my Visa Card was getting charge 39.99 every month. I was mad, so i called the Company about it and tried to cancel my subscription but they kept hanging up on me through the phone. So I was getting charge every month till 2006. I believe on June I lost my debit card that they were charging me on, so they kept sending me bills that I have to pay. They couldn't get money from me.
One day, a gentleman from CRC of Southern California called me about my subscriptions and I told him that I wanted to cancel it and he said OK and hung up. It was my fault for not asking the gentlemans full name and the date he called me.
Couple of months later I wasn't getting any magazine but they still kept sending the bills telling them that I had to pay. So I called them again on August and told them what happened. The lady I talked to from Customer Service was rude and said I never cancelled it. I told the lady to cancel it she said NO because I agreed on 29 months worth of Magazine Subscription or pay them $900. She told me that if I dont pay it off it would go into collection and I will have a bad credit etc..
Now I dont know what to do because its not fair to pay $900 for stuff that i didnt agree on. It's a rip off. I'm only 21 years old and i have bills to pay and also have Hospital Bills to pay for because I have Anxiety attacks. This is giving me so much stress so please help me deal with this. The company doesn't even care and they just want their money and I don't think it's fair at all for what they did to me and all the other customers they have that filed a complaint to this website.
Beware of Community Reading Club Of Southern California - CRC Of Southern California they're a bunched of telemarketer ripoffs.
