Ok my fiance got a call on his cell phone from crc and it sounded like a good deal to him. The reason why is because they told him that he would pay $15 for three months for time magazine and 5 others.
They told him that they recommend that you not cancel in order to keep the good low price. So i told him no we will call back and cancel. So i called back the number that was on his phone and it was a voice mail and the inbox was full so we couldnt leave a message. We had no way of getting ahold of any one.
They told him that we would recieve a sales agreement in the mail and that there would be a customer service number included to call. Then on 5/8 they called to confirm the order and i told them no we want to cancel the order. So she gave me the 18888758568 number and i called it and they wouldnt talk to me they wanted to talk to my fiance.
They said that we could not cancel. We asked why we didnt have a number to contact them to cancel and she said the phone number was on our bank statement. 4 days is not enough time to recieve a bank statement. The lady we talked to her name is Lisetta and she said well hang on a min. And let me see what i can do. She gets back on the phone and says well the company says that you can do a settlement. We were "supposively" supposed to pay 49. Something a month for 19 months which came to $6 hundred something.
She tells us that the company will settle for us to pay $199.60 and we are to recieve 3to4 months of magazines. We dont want the magazines and we dont want to pay the money. I have been on the phone for 2 hours at a time trying to cancel. And they say no that we agreed to their terms and there is nothing they can do because the magazines are pre-paid. I asked them to mail me proof of their cancellation terms and all they can say is that the two recordings of the order and the settlement is proof enough.
They cant even mail proof? So should we pay it? Or what can we do to get out of it? They say if we dont pay the 199.60 by 5/15 then it will go to collection agency and the price will go up 30%.
I dont know what to do. Need advice.
