My husband & I purchased a new computer at Circuit City back in February. We spent almost $2,000 on this item.
They train the salemen very well in selling you additional stuff you dont really need. We were talked into buying an extended warranty for almost $300. The salesman also told us that if our PC ever goes up & needs repair we will receive another PC while ours was being worked on. This was the main reason we bought the extra warranty.
Since I have had this PC in 2 days time my speakers have blown out & also my printer. Luckly it was still under the manufacturers warranty. New ones were mailed to me right away.
Since then my Mother board & modem have gone up. I called the number for my warranty & come to find the extended warranty company is managed by Circuit City. The person on the phone was very nice & helpful and that is when we determined what my problem was.
I was told they would order the part (my new motherboard)& send it to a tech in my area & he would contact me & set up an appt to come install it. When I asked about my replacement PC until mine got fixed the Tech informed me that they did not do that & That they wished the salesmen would stop telling everyone that.
I was also informed that the salesmen promise all kinds of things to the customers to get them to buy extra stuff because they get a cut of the price we pay.
A WEEK later the Tech calls me to set up an appt to install my new motherboard. He shows up installs it turns my PC on & says I am all set & leaves. I try to sign on the internet & find out my modem is also blown. Yep another week to get that.
I will NEVER buy another PC from Circuit City as long as I live.
