I purchased Circuit City's extended warranty in February. A huge mistake! I spent hours on the phone (one full week) with their so-called Customer Representatives to get my laptop fixed. What a scam!
I still do not know what the name of the company is GE/Zurich/ZurichRE/CSP/etc??? Anyway, here's how the scam works: Each time you call you WILL get a different Rep and every Rep will tell you to do some diagnostic or run some program and then ask you to call back. When you call back, of course you WILL get a different Rep that will request that you run another diagnostic or program, and then ask you to call back... Get the picture?
The Reps WILL NOT connect you to a previous contact. And the Reps are not the ones that make the decision to have your computer fixed. They have a group of technical reps that decide if you can have your computer fixed or not. It is the tech reps job to come up with things for you to try until you get tired of calling them back (and they are GOOD at it). And, of course you are not allowed to talk to them either.
I requested to talk with someone in charge — the response — "there isn't anyone else you can talk to!". I did get a fax number to fax my complaint, which I did, and have not received any response. I have also sent emails to ZurichRE management no response. Why should they respond? A friend of mine said, they already have your money. Truer words were never spoken.
