My daughter entered her first Feis dance competition last May. MY daughter is biracial. I felt daughter was judged unfairly. Wrote email to Cleveland Feis regarding my concern during May Feis. Tried to contact daughter's dance company, "Shanahan School Of Irish Dance." Left 9 messages, 2 emails. Cleveland Feis Committee and Shannahan School of Irish Dance totally ignored my complaint and disowned my daughter from partcipating in a dance that she truely enjoyed.
I brought up the subject of racism because it was a valid concern. I did not expect my daughter to not be able to continue dancing. I expect more from a national organization and from a dance company.
Either way... Beware dancers! Peggy Roach and her Shanahan School of Irish Dance are bigots, unorganized and a waste of time and money. Dancers join a REAL DANCE COMPANY!!!
