My daughter competed last May in the Cleveland Feis. Daughter was discriminated and judged unfairly due to the color of her skin. Daughter performed with other children her age and at her dance level. Daughter did not cry on stage and received lowest score possible while the blond hair-blue eyed competitor received a medal higher than her.
Wrote Cleveland Feis about "possible discrimination." An email was sent back to me denying any racism. After this occurred, word spread like wildfire and her dance company "Shanahan School of Irish Dance" would not return emails or phone calls. There for my daughter was not able to continue something that she loves... All because she is 1/2 Irish and 1/2 African American.
