This is on their web site! When my EX took me back to court to have my payment amount increased I told the judge he is pricing me right out of seeing my kids. He did not care. My payments went from 350$ a month to 1200$ a month.
I was living in California at the time and could no longer afford my "larger one bedroom" apartment that I had just signed a 12 month lease for so my kids could visit. I was teaching full time in the sacramento area. So I moved into my car and slept in Wal-mart's parking lot for six months while I was still teaching. I washed in the utilty sink at school. The school found out and I lost my job (was not re-hired).
I am in Arizona now. I had back child support accumulate while I was unemployed. I have had 50-55% of my wages garnished now for two years. I imagine I look like a dead-beat to my new school because of this. They take my tax refund and I got 600$ of my 2000$ bonus last year.
When I was "homeless" I guess my EX labeled me unstable and my kids love of me turned to fear and now they won't even talk to me on the phone. But I work with and have worked with kids for 10 years now. The problem was not me but the system cruely, slowly and painfuly taking my children from me and destroying my relationship with my kids.
My EX married the neighbor less than 30 days after our divore was finalized - and get this!!! They had the wedding on the lawn between our two houses. This was five years ago. Don't believe in Karma??? Three years into their marriage, the new husband was putting up a fence in the yard where they had their wedding - he died right there of a massive heart attack!
My ex sells the house for a half MIL. Now! Now! After all that with my EX cleaning me out AND taking my kids the California Child Supprt Collections Office send me a notice that I am not paying down the 7000$ balance fast enough. I called and said - "Hey, I am already paying the maximum amount allowed by law, I haven't paid on any of my outstanding bills for almost five years now."
"I will just ignore your notices", I said. My life was already ruined and I lost my kids. I have absolutly no financial future. They said, "We will put a lean on your bank account!" Don't believe them when they say - you can't squeeze blood from a turnip.
I spent a week in the hospital a month ago for attempted suicide - I figured there was no point of being alive any more. You know how in science fiction books they talk about organ farms - where people are kept alive for their organs? That is how I feel.
I have a 1987 piece of *%#& car, a studio apartment that is really just a room, severe depression and I can not even afford to put money in my 401K. I was a great father - fun and imaginative - damn I'm an art teacher so you can imagine. Never hit my wife or kids and loved them.
My EX moved into town and bought a new house and new truck. She has everything including the kids. I thought in all of this I would at least have them always and no one could take that. I can not even afford to have my windshield fixed that has been broken for over a year now let alone go visit my kids.
And... If that is not enough, guess when she decided to spread his ashes??? Fathers day!!! If this was a movie or a book no one would believe it. I guess the final straw will be when I go to pay rent and there is nothing in my account.
I do have a question though - if your taxes are wrong and you get back "way" to much but child support scoops it up and sends it to the EX and then IRS figures this out - they can't come to me for the money can they? I never got any money so how can I give it back. Right??
