Well, I can't say enough about consumer complaints! I have been being fradulently charged 14.95 per month since May, and have been under the impression that these charges were coming from a company called, "Privacy Matters." I have sent them numerous, threatening emails, telling them I would take legal action, with no response. I haven't been able to find a phone number to contact these people, until I found consumer complaints.
I found numerous entries from people just like me who had the same thing done to them! So, I called the number listed, and actually talked to someone from "Privacy Matters" who then referred me to their affiliate company, "Galleria" who was the company actually making the charges. They said they would cancel my subscription immediately, and they would refund the current month's charges.
I thanked them, as the representative was extremely pleasant and helpful. I demanded that the rest of my money ($90!) be refunded as well. She directed me to her manager, whom I had a lengthy conversation with, and in the end, I was told I would get a complete refund in 2 business days. Hopefully, it is as simple as it seems, and I will get a refund in two days. I will most certainly report it if it is not done within that time frame.
Also, the manager said that this was somehow done through clicking on a "K-Mart" gift card... Which I know nothing about, and obviously never received. How can this company get away with something like this? Also, the manager kept telling me that the phone number for "Galleria" was on my bank statement. I told her, "I'm looking online right now, and I have to tell you, it is only partially listed. My bank statement had, "ap9*galleriausa-800-411-11/17-), " which was this month's date of charge attached to the beginning of the phone number. I told her I was prepared to take legal action, and she promised to give me a refund, and reminded me of her name and agent ID#. She was very pleasant as well.
