Dishonest fradulent billing ripoff

Mikob property are out there to rip people off. Beware

We lived there for over a year and the whole time they were there our roof leaked. We tried and tried to have the roof repaired but to no avail. We finally broke our lease because the environment was not very condusive at all. The only mistake we made is that we did not take pictures or file a legal claim. About 9 months after we moved out we noticed that they have reported us to the credit bureau indicating that we owe them $3888.

Now our rent was 850 a month and we left 3 months early which should make our balance if any about $2550. I called and called asking someone to explain the difference and was told after about 3 weeks of calling that we owed them $743 in water bill and $106 was the final bill. Now you would think that if we owed them that much in water the would have done something other than just let us get away with it. These people are crooks. For one thing the water billing was very irregular.

I remember my wife going to their office several times to let them know we have not gotten the water bill. When they do send the bill, it comes in a large amount due to their inconsistent billing consequently we paid partially most of the time. Whatever the case was we did clear the water bill before we moved, now out of nowwhere we owe them $743

The texas apartment association mandates that tenants who break leases are liable for the reletting fees and the remaining of the lease if the apartment remains vacant. Even though we broke the lease, we gave them 30 days notice upon which I am sure the tried to find someone to take over the apartment. When I told the so called manager about the Texas Apartment Association law she ignorantly told me that my lease has nothing to do with them having someone else in the apartment.

Now that is simply being dumb. The only reason people have to pay for remaining lease when they break their lease is because it is assumed the apartment remains vacant till the end of your lease and therefore the complex looses money.in a case where someone else moves in the former tenant should not also be charged. That is double billing.

You do not have to be a genius to figure it out. I could go on and on about this people. With the amount of complaints out there you would think they will be closed by now. I will be willing to participate in any class action law suit.

They need to be thought a lesson. They have gotten away with so much as it is already. They need to be cautioned. Tenants do have rights that need to be acknowlegded and respected.

Do not move here, the apartments are old and crappy and they have not time for customer satisfaction!!!
