After 30 plus years of working and paying within/into 'the system' legally. My disabillity benefits were given to my 86 year old birth mother, with medical problems of her own, never needing the pressure [she is gullible and has often been used/abused by others before]. She is not physically able to perform it's functions [which has complicated her memory/mental problems caused by age. She has since resigned the conservatorship].
This never should have happenned to begin with, as I'm on physical disabillity [not mental disabillity], having taken good care of myself, ALONE, since my disabillity, being mentally able/capable from the beginning of my disabillities! My mental abillity was never in question from the outset, and there is no valid reason for it now!
The probate Judge [J. Keyes] made it a personal issue when I didn't show at the 1st hearing, having received no official written notice from his court. He refused to restore my benefits back to me after I did appear at the next hearing (s) I attended when my benefits did'nt appear in my bank cking acc't as scheduled and promised.
My 'court appointed' young attorney says anything at the hearings, and I'm not allowed to speak, just open my mouth! Addittionally, my bank was going through a 'transition' merger, and my account records of about 30 years was not 'available' as proof of my proven financial abillities, etc.
The alledged reason for the conservatorship was supposedly over nonpayment of month to month or time stayed rent verbal agreement which was paid as long as I received my payments [1-2 months late payments tops], which I paid whenever I received benefit payments, which came late, irregular, or never during my reinstatement process!
The building's owner was aware of my situation, as I explained to her and her book keeper daughter living out of state who I made and kept a verbal payment agreement with. The arrearages were less than one mos. Rent, my bank checking account was solvent, when my benefits were (il) legally taken from me. They broke every senior, civil, elder, human rights law on the books to protect citizens in the process.
I can see and understand how Terri S. Was cruelly and (il) legally starved and 'luved' to death on the say of one 'politically (in) correct' judge, defying and disrespecting the highest office and legislative body in the land despite testimony and expert opinions Terri's favor to accomplish like minded goals of some, and greedy financial gains of another! This is every able/capable citizen's on disabillity or simply retiree's worst nightmare.
I've know this to happen before to someone else, whose affluent family took possession of her assets, and deposited her in a retirement home where she went hungry on holidays and weekends when the inhouse kitchen was closed. I thought this was an isolated case, I was wrong then and now! I've gone from disbelief, to anger, to frustration to determination to not become a 'pre' Terri S., No reason, excuse, or cause for this garbage by a biased lawyer/judge [especially when everything I worked for and established such as medical plans, my health, life insurance, lack of food/medication at times keep happening, or arein shambles, (much needed dental work, and new glasses, living quarters, etc)].
This should have been a housing issue at best, but some take advantage of 'loopholes' in the legal system to accomplish their financial ends at any cost to ones rights, using their means and 'connections' to good advantage.
Additionally, I've worked for some 20 years despite being advised by my surgeon [who almost killed me on the operating table] to go on ssi, never a product of the welfare system, and never one wanting handouts. I perservered through unbearable pain at times to stay 'free' and not becoming a taxpayer burden so as to enjoy my 'golden years' with a sense of personal pride and a clear conscience in the American system that's been shaken to put it mildly [somewhat corrupt is a better discription now].
I thank all and everyone who can be of some help, as I cannot afford a private attorney, having no source of income now. You'll also no doubt be helping many others in the process! When word of this type of situation 'gets out' you'll be surprised who will take advantage of or abuse you financially without fear of being held accountable for their actions!
