Ripoff, Not Watching your credit but taking your monthly premiums!

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I bought PPL awhile back. Thinking my credit was being watched closely and not having to worry. Well, that was not the case at all. It seems to be they take your monthly premiums and don't watch your credit activity.

Actually, how can they watch all three credit places 24/7? This is what I was told... Is this possible? To make a long story short we bought a house added a few credit cards to our names due to updates on the home we needed and I kept getting "No activity this month on your credit" emails. Funny huh??? No it is not because they aren't even watching our credit.

On PPL portion. I've read several complaints about it out there and my thought on it is after your done paying $443.40/yearly I could have saved that and paid that towards other things without their help. It is nice to have PPL for little things cause they will send free letters out on your behalf, but the question is is it worth $443.40 a year?

That is one decision that needs to be made independantly. I know I used the service for a house issue and a letter was sent to the former owners and that was all they could do. I was then told by PPL now you need to take them to small claims court on your own. Also, we inquired about it for a custody case.

The discounted amount was $112/hour plus a $1k retainer fee, well we already paid our retainer fee to our other attorney years back and our attorney was only $13/hour more than PPL fees. Not much savings there esp when I'm paying $443.40/yearly premium. I think I'm coming further ahead without the service.

Anyway, we are cancelling our plan and the biggest concern to me is they DON'T watch your credit and that is a scarey thing. Maybe they don't watch it and take the risk if identity theft does happen to someone then MAYBE they will help restore it at that time.
Just my thoughts on it!
