A few years ago we were sucked into buying a time share at Westgate Vacation Villas. My wife and I took our first trip to Florida and got sucked into taking this tour of the Westgate Villas. When we sat down with them the sales person made it sound like this was the best thing since slice bread. The site was very nice in the center of an orange grove and they had told us if we purchased the timeshare whenever we would come down we could pick our own oranges to make fresh juice. They had also told us they were not going to build anymore units and that our unit was going to go up in value and if we ever wanted to sell they would assist us.
Well the next time we went down there was no more orange groves and they were build to beet the band. A couple of years after we called them about selling because financially we felt it was a burden. When we called them they told us they were not into resale yet but would probably be into it shortly. We then went down again and spoke to them about reselling and they said they are not planning on reselling these ever. This year I tried just to give it back to them for no money and they will not accept accept it. This just goes to show you how much it is worth now. I am willing just to give it away if anyone wants it.
In my opinion I would not even look at time share again and now when people approach me about it I tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Stay away from Time share
