On December 11 I unfortunately stepped into the doors of El Cajon Ford with my dad to just look at cars, I didn't even want a new car. Well something came over me, and I picked out the first car that was in my price range, a 2000 Ford Explorer, there should be a cooling off period for buying a car, because I regreted it the next day, I was even regretting it while we were working out the warrenty.
The sales person, Mark, was trying to sell me things that I didn't want nor need, he was trying to selling me a security system, a teflon coat for the interior, a paint protector for the outside. I told him I do not want the paint protector, but he insist that the keep that blue color nice and bright, I need that paint protector, unless that is I want to be waxing my car every week to maintain it. I knew that was a lie there, because my brother had a RED 98 Ford Ranger, and it still to this day looks brand new, and he waxes it himself, and he is no where near there waxing it once a week.
Second, he was telling I need the teflon coat for my seats because I told him how I plan on taking my dogs places, he said it is a must, and the warrenty, I told them I don't want the most expensive one, but of course he laughs at my dad, kind of like, "silly, girl you don't know what you need, " BS!!! I hate that guy, he was talking more to my dad then me, even though I am going to make all the payments.
So unfortunately I buy the car, but within the first two weeks of my driving it, the chech engine light comes on. I take it in with my dad, my dad says he will handle it, so I do walking around the dealership looking at other vehicles that I wished I bought instead, when it was time to go, my dad said, they are charging $76 to look at it, and fix it. My father and I got all the way back to his truck, when I decided to walk back and demand not to be charged for them looking at my car. The guy who my dad talked to Danny Summers, tried to tell me it is ONLY $76, and my warrenty will cover the rest. But my complaint was that I just bought it, and it wasn't until I started raising my voice and started to cry and customers were noticing that this big bad man was making this little inocent girl cry that he took me in to talk with the manager, when we got to the manager, he said, "oh you had it less then 30days, then we will take care of it, " it wasn't until I started making a scene that then they actually realized that it was covered under a minimium 30day warrenty, the supposely safety net you have when you buy a used car from a dealership instead of a private seller.
This does not end yet!!! I get a smart guy friend to look over my contract, I told him how I do not want any of those extra things that they added to my bill like the teflon coating, paint protector or secruity system. He told me that if I want a security system, I could get it done for $100's less than what Ford was charging to do so. My friend noticed on the back of my contract that I have 90days to get a FULL-Refund of all those things I didn't want. I went straight to El Cajon Ford, told them I want out of it, and want ALL my money back and the guy tells me, I will only get a PARTIAL refund!!!
I show him the print on back of the contract that says I have 90days to get out of it, and he says OK and that I will get a full refund. Doesn't that piss you off, it sure pisses me off, El Cajon Ford doesn't give you your money back until you show it to them right in front of their faces. I refused to ever do business with El Cajon Ford again, so I went to Drew Ford next, to get ripped off just as bad. That story coming up next!!!
