Ripoff Unlawful job termination

Ok, now that I can actually say something, I'll try to describe the horrors of working and what it was like, even for a short time, at this company... Basically, there was no time that was yours. This company advertises on a 24/7 365 basis for customer service reps to sit & take calls for the client company they happen to be representing.

At the time I was first interviewed (Oct. 2004) I was in dire need of a job to help me pay even a portion of the bills I still incur. I did take the attitude of the fact of our economy being in such the shambles that it has been since our latest misfortunate selection of a president... Anyway, I did get the job. I started right away. They had us in 3 full weeks of training and because they do say, in their initial packet of info, that attendence is mandatory for the 15 days of class, they definitely take their training seriously... I did make it through 14 days of the training, but because I happened to get ill on one day; I received my 1st REAL warning that was documented (I was shocked at this right off the bat!) and I didn't make a fuss because I thought. "Hey, that's cool, nothing is going to happen to me".. Well, nothing did happen. Until I got into the middle/last part of December when I really got sick with, what the doctors are calling, a long term mono-type virus that has my body not having any energy at all..

Needless to say, I had called to inform my supervisor of this problem and explained that I was under direct care of my doctor and he told me that he was not going to release me until he knew EXACTLY what was going on. So, as you must already see, this company saw me as some type of slacker and also, that I wasn't interested in making them any long term career promises. I never enjoyed my job there, but it did pay most of what I was needing now.

So, after not being able to get past this illness, I constantly was in touch with my direct boss, but apparently, because I had been out for 7 days and was not able to get my doctor to give me a paper to return to work and them not wanting me back without it, the next day, I was called by my boss' boss with my boss sitting in to listen. This woman (Penny Lemasters) explained to me how she felt that my illness was too longlasting and they had to terminate my employment. Oh, but she DID tell me that she truly hoped I felt better soon... RIGHT??!!!

In my eyes, this was totally illegal and was confirmed by the only legal counsel I could afford (Legal-aide). Now, I'm not getting any information, nothing in writing from anyone and since I had already made one unemployment claim in this state, I now have to wait another 56 days before even getting to file again, and, of course, waiting the typical 2-3 weeks for that paperwork to be filed and worked through. I have EXACTLY $50 to my name, nowhere to live and no jobs here in this sub-standard job-less state and now, having no money to pay bills, I'm looking at, being a 46 years old, with a dog and a rabbit, having nowhere to live, no money... NOTHING!

I can validate many times of meeting past employees of this company around this area where they've backed up my suspicions about this companies hiring and firing tactics. MANY paople have lost their jobs at that company for no more reason that they had too many bathroom visits or that they got sick or, better yet, they said one curse word out loud???!!! Tell me, what is going on with these places and how people are being tossed away like no one means anything to anyone anymore???

I can no longer understand this world, but what I DO know, is that this company and all of it's illegal behavior NEEDS to be investigated... Now!!!
