About 4 years ago we were ripped off by Fred Resnick, Momax Builders, Inc. We hired them to put on a new roof, what we ended up with was a $10,000.00 piece of sh_t which leaked worst then the 40 year old leaking roof they were hired to replace. Momax's new $10,000.00 roof ended up in a dumpster within 6 months which we are still paying for to this day not to mention the $12,000.00 it cost to replace the roof correctly.
Without going into great length what basically happened was, Momax did not do what our contract stated, they billed us for material which was never used, lied about what was replaced and how much, lied about what they actually did and how the job was done, failed city inspection 5 times and mysteriously passed the 6 th. Inspection without doing or correcting anything, failed to correct the cause of the original leak (s), would not return in a timely manner to correct new leaks which resulted in interior damage totalling over $3000.00 which they would not take responsibilty for or admit it was due to a sh_t job.
We filed reports with the States Attorney, the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. The only one who felt it was worth their time was the Better Business Bureau so we followed that course.
Well, that was our biggest mistake, we went to arbitration and despite unquestionalbe proof, Fred Resnick lying his _ss off under oath being recorded, countinuously changing his story about what was done, how it was done, material used, etc. Somehow the arbitrator after CAREFULL review of the tape and evidence sided with Resnick and we get screwed royal.
We don't know if anything can be done about us getting ripped off because it has been approx. 4 years now but the saddest part is that the States Attorney and the Attorney General were notified but didn't feel it was important at the time. God only knows how many other people were getting ripped off and reporting it with nothing being done.
Our issue took place in 2000 & in February the Attorney General did contact us to see if the matter was resolved and we told them what happened but we have never heard anything since.
I don't know about you but I find it very hard to believe that this issue only goes back a couple of years. How many people have been getting ripped off and screwed by Momax and Resnick from the start? We got screwed in 2000 and reported it, how many other people got screwed and reported it but no one felt it was important enough to look into it and take action?
Maybe, just maybe if certian offices would have felt it important enough to look into and take action, then maybe hundreds of people could have been saved from getting ripped off by Resnick and Momax.
Please feel free to comment, we would love nothing more then to be included in this and help put another nail in his coffin but being we were screwed over 4 years ago we don't if we can be included, it didn't seem to matter to anyone back then, maybe it does now so all we can do now is hope and pray.
