I just tried my Rival Crock Pot for the second time since buying it. The first time it seemed to get too hot really quickly but I just ignored it. Today I put in chicken and other ingredients from a popular slow cooking site. It called for the contents to cook for 4 hours on low setting. After just one hour the meat was black and the burned smell permeated the house. This is very upsetting since food is so expensive. I cannot serve this meal even to my dogs!
