Arsen - Lee - cydcor - sfmarketingArsene ripoff! Miss communication on purpose, hiding the facts, etc

My experience was not as bad as some of the Cydcor experiences listed here. I feel however I was lied to everyday I was there.

I worked in the SF office for about 2 weeks. I just graduated college about a month prior to getting this job. I was working retail so I jumped at the chance to get away from the cash register. I send out my resume and the next day they called me. I went in for the short interview and Randy the manager got me all excited.

He made it sound like I would be doing sales presentations to Fourtune 5000 companies, not for them to unexpecting business. I agreed to go on my second interview. It was very important that I do it the next week for some reason. I had to rearange my schedule and everything, later I realized there was no reason for it because they do interviews almost everyday.

I am a little slower than some people, the "day of O" (or my second interview) didn't seem all that terrible to me. I followed a really nice girl around and watched her work. I realized it was door to door sales, which did bother me, but when I asked her, do they tell you which doors to go in? She said yes. I think I took that as "the customer knows you're coming and they want you to bother them." I was wrong. I think I was so so excited about the opportunity that I did not listen to the voice in my head. I was trying not to be negative, because that is not what gets you a job is it?

So I started a few weeks later, they sort of made a big deal about me starting sooner but I worked retail and it was Christmas. I wanted to show integrity so I decided to finish the Chirstmas season. I started fresh on Monday. I was told I had to be there at 7:30. That seemed early to me but my trainer assured me it was to do paper work. She did not tell me I had to be there at that time every day for a 2 hour meeting. I just figured it out because everyone was there at that time to.

At 7:30 people are all excited and ready to cram things down your throat. I was going to be selling office supplies, no big deal I was farmilar. I tried my hardest to learn the pitch and over come objections, but got caught up a lot in practice, I'd stop and ask them what they would have done in some of the situations they posed me. The trainers seemed to get frusterated, but you couldn't tell unless you were really astute because they always seem so happy.

NO NEGATIVE remarks are to be made in the office unless you are with the manager or assistant manager. I said a wherehouse I was pitching to was cold and one of the trainers said "well that is a negative so don't even mention it again." I also said I was tired once and got chewed out. That was my second day. I understand keeping a positive attitude, but I can't say I'm cold? Come on.

The women tended to be a little more callous and fake then the men. I am a woman so I am not sure if that had something to do with it, but they were really short with me and made me feel like I was 3. I don't think these people are bad people. I am sure that the office I worked out of was probably one of the most reputable and professional from what I have read on this site and others. I just feel that I was lied to and a lot of things were kept from me.

I did not like how they made that job seem like it was the creme of the crop and I was super lucky. It was like Nazi propaganda. Yes there was opportunity to grow, but it is my choice if I want to take it and because I chose not to does not mean that I am weak or stupid. My boss asked me if I was OK and if I wanted to continue because I was making no money. I told him I could do it then decided to quit instead. There is a reason he had a talk with me, my sales sucked. They sucked because I felt that I was a misrepresentation.

Also, I am sorry for any misspellings, you don't have to spell to sell.
