Hi, everyone. A little more than a month ago, I was doing a people search and I came across spokeo.com, which offered a free searching trial. When registering, I remember an advertisement for identity protection service, but I don't remember signing up for it. Then before the free trial was over, I cancelled my membership, which I thought meant I wasn't supposed to be charged.
But then in July and August, I was charged by a company called Privpro. I was so confused because I had never even heard of it, but then I looked it up and found that it was that identity protection and Privpro and Spokeo were somehow affiliated. My only explanation is that you're supposed to cancel the identity protection separately, but like I said, as far as I know, I didn't sign up for it.
I would really like to know why I'm getting these charges because if I really never had that identity protection, I would like my money back. What makes it worse is that Privpro overdrew from my account, so now I have an overdraw fee. I don't know if the fee would just be dropped if they paid me my 29.90, but if it is included, it's 59.90.
