I was in a tight spot and completed a loan application online, which I will never do again. Shortly after I got a call from Charles Smith saying that I was matched with a lender he needed to verify some of my information and they would call me shortly. A day later I received a call from a local number in ft Lauderdale (954) 354-6418 from a woman named "Pauline Hayes". She let me know that I was approved for a 2k installment loan & that I would have to pay $115 a month for 24 months in order to pay it off and that includes whatever fees & finance charges. Sounded good. She then said in order to go forward swe need to verify that you have funds available and that they need me to place $115 on a green pak card for them to verify that I do have funds. And would be able to repay the loan. Not being comfortable I asked her if she can get a photo of the bank statement or something showing the balance, she said no and gave me several other reasons. Only money pak. I said ok got the money pak loaded it. Called her back and supplied her with the number. She said do not load the money pak unto a card for the next 1hr and a half. They need to see the funds are there at the time the lender will deposit the money. If not it could mess up the process. And that I could take the 115 and use it once the 2k hit my account. Waited. And nothing several hours at work checking my bank account. Nothing. Called them back around 5pm spoke with Pauline again very nice she said that there was a hold with the application and i will need to speak with a supervisor he would call me back. Recieved a call from supervisor Eric Gordon from verification department. He let me know that the check was ready to be deposit ed into my account but because of a delinquent account I had the lender felt that I would not make payments on this loan. He tried to argue that if I loaded another 200 onto a moneypak it would show the lender that I would be capable of paying back this loan. He also noted that $2,315 would be deposited into my account. About 15 to 20 minutes after I was able to get a 2nd moneypak. I ended up saying that I would have to call back. And see if I could. I never felt to concerned because there was a local address that I could go to. Felt something was fishy so I researched consumer reviews.com and saw tons of nasty encounters people had. I brought this to there attention today. And Pauline attempted to put my concerns to rest and said that alot of people ard using the companies name to scam people. Among alot of other excuses. I asked her to verify the address and if I could come into the office to supply her with the 2nd money pak. I figured theres an office I can snap picture of who im speaking with maybe record audio. So atleast I have something to go with. She replied nicely sure that would be no problem you can come in and sign tue paper work and everything. After this evening my gut really started to turn after I called the first money pak to load it onto a prepaid visa I just bought and learned the 115 was gone. I called the number and Eric answered saying so I learn that you were supposed to come in and bring the money pak to finish up the loan. I told him well we got the money elsewhere and no longer needed the loan. All I would ask is that you refund the 115 to my account. He said well the only option I have is that you pay the 200 and we will deposit back to you 2,315. After a few minutes of back and forth I threstned him with legal action and he completely hung up and is no longer answering phone. So I am out 115 that I borrow and im short for rent. Lol what is a guy to do. I will see if I can look into the address and find a location. If I am able to I will get the law Involved. People are so (Inappropriate Content Removed) up in life. May seem like a little but when you dont have 115 and you borrowed it. It feels like 1k. Please help
