I was in need of some money so I applied for a loan online (my biggest mistake). I recieved a call from a guy (sounded like he was from the mid east) stating his name is John Anderson from America Fastpay Loan. He stated that I was approved for a $3000 loan. He stated because of Federal reasons he was not able to check my checking account but he needed for me to placed 10% of the loan amount onto a greendot Moneyback card. I informed him that I did not have $300 but only have $280. He stated that was fine they will approve me for $2800 instead of $3000. I was not sure of why he wanted me to get a greendot card so I had him to explain. He stated they was not going to take the $280 but just wanted to verify that I had 10% of the loan request. He then stated that he will
just verify the money and not take it. Once I purchased the greendot card I called him back at 281-533-3902 and gave him the information he needed. He then told me they will verify the funds and within 1 hour I will have the $2800 deposited into my checking account. After 1 hour no funds in my account. I then called greendot and realized that taken the information I gave them off the card and took my $280. At this point I realized I was scammed. I called them back and got a voicemail. I kept calling and they finally admitted this was a scam and I was not going to get my money back. I went to my local police station and file a Fraud report. I was told by the officers scams happens all the time and I may never get my money back. I just hope this people gets want they deserve.
