I use iphone ipad before, I always let her play on the ipad game. And for years I know is save she can't guess my password to buy games items, and I trust Apple they monitor the apps design, and the bill is always on my Apple account.
When I swift to Android, I though google did the same things, but unfortunately when I installed gameloft free kids game, for my daughter, on my Android phone. Which I let my daughter play on my phone, she is 5 yrs old.
I received a addition £30 bill on top my mobile phone bill. After few days play the kids acceded, I just realised the company Gameloft design the kids game on purples to let kid buy coins and let them key in the password showed on screen which is what they call password. It's not my phone account password. They just create a password and show on screen and ask you to key in the same things.
I myself is a programmer, I know why they design in this way, a greedy company to trap kids and careless people, be aware.
This company is very tricky to design the game let kids spend money and they don't know they spend the real money. My 5 yrs old daughter don't know much words, and hate to read. What they do is tap and try what happen. Most kids do that, just tap tap tap.
And the bill charge on my mobile phone showed premier text message £5 per message send out from 700040119, total 6 premier text message, 4 of them make within few minutes. I called Virgin Media (my mobile phone line provided) ask them whats going on which this number, they just didn't know which company charge on my bill. What they knew is data services.
I called Gameloft and email them, what they ask for is my daughter birth certificate. I reply them this is private confidential, I won't trust this kind of company so I didn't reply with birth certificate. They agreed and reply I only need to tell them the kid DOB and Name or photo. I reply them with name and DOB but they still want photo. So I reply them with photo. But they still not interested to refund me. I will only show my child birth certificate on government department. No this entrusted company. I hope government can monitor and investing this company to protect children benefit. They are creative and make multimillion within every few months. And I believe it involved many innocent kid's money. (Although parent have no choice or unaware to pay for it.)
