My parents back 12 years or more bought into Fairfield timeshare and paid it off and wyndham bought them out early 2000's. The timeshare turned to points and as of 2011 my parents had 500,000 points paid in full and had no complaints, it gave them away to see family etc.in 2011 everything changed. My parents being elderly thought that when wyndham had member meetings they had to go, so they were in San Antonio and attended a meeting. What the man did to them there started a snowball effect of devestation. He told them that they were needing to have more points and they would make money off them by selling them back to Wyndham to use, and they needed 714,000 points. It took him nearly 5 hours to talk my sweet parents into this since they had no need for it, he also took their deeds to timeshare they had paid off and closed out their old contracts making a new contract, basically taking the 500,000 they had, and if they defaulted on the new stuff they would lose it all. My parents had 800 plus credit yet the man put them on something called bill me later (the newest scam) at rates of 24% or so. When they returned home and were unable to make it work the way the man said, they visited Wyndham in Sevieville, Tenn where they then told them, oh no no, you have to have 1 million points to make this all work so they put them in another contract. My parents struggled to try and figure it all out and Wyndham wouldnt help. When mom called because they couldnt pay the payments, they were told to call the bill me later or the Barkley bank that wyndham had set all the stuff up at. I went in April to visit my mother becaue she had quit visiting us all last year, not even seeing her 82 year old sister in Waco Texas, and to my horror I walked in to a house where they had no food, the church was having to pay their electric, no gas, nothing BUT THEY WERE PAYING WYNDHAM. 800 to this bill me later, 600 in maintenance, over 700 in payments and they are on soc sec. How dare you wyndham. We called and when I told wyndham what was going on and how my parents savings had been drained and they were going without food, the lady said, SOUNDS LIKE THE SALESMEN DEFRAUDED YOUR PARENTS. Then sent me to the fraud department and nothing has happened so far. I have POA over all of it now for my parents, but I have no idea where to start to help them. Mom wont quit paying because they took all her paid off deeds and she was told by them if she doesnt pay now she looses it all, which means she can never come see anyone. It gets better. I know in my heart wyndham also is running a new scam. The minute I called wyndham about my mom, my mom began receiving phone calls from companies wanting to buy her points up, telling her, if you pay me this fee I will get you this much money, I told her no, do not do anything, they wont quit 10 a day, and over and over, harassing her. How do they know she has points if wyndham doesnt tell them. I hope to bring them all down, i will do whatever it takes to destroy them for what they have done to my elderly parents that only wanted to be able to see their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. I need help, pls pls direct me to getting their money back and their 500,000 points they had paid off. Begging here!
