Went searching for a website to renew my wife's Canadian PR and click a link to the site that looked very much like a government website. I should have paid more attention but it was late and I proceeded to fill out the form and payed a $49 charge that I thought was the typical application cost that the government requires. After completing the application it ask for another payment which I then immediately knew was strange b/c government sites really ask you to pay twice. I look more closely and then realized that this is not a government site. I did not complete and file the application but they've already charged me $49. The site just basically provides you with a print out which you still need to file with the Canadian government. This site is completely predatory and should be shut down as it adds next to no value and its main business model is to scam people like me that did not think carefully enough. I cam calling my credit card company tomorrow and will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau about this.
