I just received a check mailed from this company, which I know is a scam and possibly part of a larger one. The check received is allegedly from Liberty Alliance Project and drafted from an account at TD Banknorth N.A. I believe that this is part of an attempted scam for a Craigslist purchase. The purchaser wanted to pay by certified cashiers check and was to mail the funds via defense courier service. That was two days ago. Now today, I receive this check, which far exceeds the purchase price and from a company I know nothing about! Coincidence? I am not certain of this company is part of the fraud or not but there is no way I am taking this check to the bank! I may turn it over to the local fraud department though. Something needs to be done about these people trying to make a living off the ignorance or perceived need of other people.
