Movers to Go gave us a quote and guaranteed satisfaction. They arrived to pick up furniture and placed items on UHAUL truck, NOT THEIR ADVERTISED TRUCK. Once items were loaded in truck, the foreman doubled the price. I already closed out my storage unit so I spoke with my boyfriend, who is a retired Lt. Colonel (U.S. Army) and we reluctantly agreed. Foreman would not fill out figures on receipt because he claimed that the items would be moved to an interstate truck, weighed, and a computer generates the invoice. I called the company and spoke with Danny (supervisor) and he stated that this is standard practice. The foreman also harassed me for a tip, going as far as to call me later that evening. Made me nervous to know he had my property. Anyway, The company promised three days to deliver and were two days late. This SAME foreman showed up IN A UHAUL TRUCK and had the invoice filled out to almost quadruple the original agreed on price!!! We suspected drug use as he REEKED of marijuana and he DEMANDED $4200 or else he would take my furniture. We wanted our belongings off the truck and knew we could handle this matter after the fact... So we paid. This foreman then told me that he wanted a tip up front and that he didn't want to get "stiffed". I told him to get mybelongings off the truck. My furniture sustained a lot of damage. My stainless steel refrigerator was transported from NY to VA UPSIDE DOWN and was carried off the truck upside down. The foreman purposely (despite his partner yelling at him to stop) dragged a curio across wooden floors, causing deep gashes in the floor. He dropped items off the truck, causing breakage, he somehow dropped a box containing personal files (bank statements etc) and left the items on the lawn on the side of the house without telling me. (His partner did). He left the refrigerator and a freezer in the middle of the floor and refused to take them to their destinations. He also refused to take other items to their proper rooms. When I discovered boxes missing and questioned him... He got up, walked out the door and flipped us his middle finger... And left. He didn't finish his job or unwrap items wrapped in moving blankets and just left the job! We reported this immediately! The movers PROMISED to resolve this to our satisfaction and did nothing but waste time. We also discovered they were not insured by the company they told us insured them! With $15k in damage, stolen items and tripled wages we turned to BBB, DOT, FMCA, State Attorney General and Angies List... And we received word from the BBB and Angies List that the mover has not responded to any of their inquiries. I will be calling the FBI today as the foreman was under the influence and transported goods across state lines without the proper documentation or licensure! Avoid this mover! We have emails from them admitting fault and promising resolution but they are unscrupulous!
