My husband & I were given an overnight stay as a present for our birthdays, at hollin hall Macclesfield via a groupon voucher. We took the break this weekend & can honestly say it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! The voucher via groupon boasts the hotel has a spa, gym & sauna all of which are comp, tee lies! The Hotel is damp, cold, smelly & absolutely filthy! My bed was minus two wheels, the bath water was brown, the walls were loosing their paint, & the carpet was COVERED in every stain imaginable! Absolute disgrace!!! The food was ok, but I dread to think how clean the kitchen was, eeuurrgghh. The bar in the hotel was out of bounds to guests, as there were 150 school children on a leavers prom in fully swing, incredibly noisy & NOT relaxing at all.
We feel totally cheated & our luxury spa break was completely mis old. Shame on you groupon, the Hollin Hall Hotel is not even a 1 star, has NEVER been a 3 star! Refund please??? Will never use Groupon again!!!
