Ivory Chevrolet
Consumer Report

I am writing this because I just got ripped off by a big company, Ivory Chevrolet, in Union City Georgia. I might not be able to get any money back from them, but at least you can warn your listeners, so it won’t happen again to anybody.

I had been looking for a Camaro since last year, and I was not getting any better prices than the $25,595 offered by most dealerships, so I went ahead and decided to go to the dealership near my work. But somehow this particular car didn’t have a sticker price, so when I asked the salesman, Savil, how much the car costs, and he told us (me and my friend) that it was $25,595 which was the same as the other dealerships. Then, I wanted to change to leather seats from the cloth material, which was $1,000 extra more so when the finance guy, Mickal Williams put $26,890 on the paper which I was assuming was including the leather seat price. But I was wrong! It was just the car sticker price, which should have been $25,595. It was $1,295 more than the sticker price. I found out about this after I got my leather seat money back from them, which was already added onto my total (making it a total of $27,890).
While I was at the dealership, no one from the dealership told me that I had to pay the “Environmental Protection Cost.” It was another extra $1,295 plus tax.
Mickal Williams snuck it into the base amount not explaining to me clearly why it jumped to $26,890 from $25,595, and I was stupid enough to sign the paper for getting a lower rate (. 9%) than what my bank offered me (2%) to get.
I wish I didn’t find the original sticker price, but I found it in the glove compartment while I was cleaning the car.
When I went back to the dealership and told them that they over charged for my car price, the sales manager, Joseph, told us that it was their business to charge extra, and it was my fault that I didn’t ask questions about the each line before I signed.
When I asked him about the below invoice price advertising, he didn’t make any comments. Savil told me that it is used to get the customer’s foot in the door.
Clark,
I know it is their business to make money with whatever it takes, but I think it is so wrong that they charge their customers without giving any information, and once they received the signature from the customer (who is so excited about getting a new car, and using that time to sneak in hidden fees) it is their money to keep. I felt like I was ripped off by the company, which has to stand by their integrity to all their customers. I have all the proof if you want to see it, and I hope you can talk with them and get my money back, plus warn your listeners about this dealership.

No other dealership has these ridiculous charges.
