I currently was in the market to purchase a new truck and decided to stop by Bill Heard Chevrolet at Town Center. When trying to get in a financing program to purchase the truck I was not advised the best option for myself, instead I was advised the best option for Bill Heard (6yrs of payments and a balloon payment at the end of the term equal to one-third of the sticker price) After all the stress of negotiating I finally came to a agreement which was not what the same as the initial payments I had asked for. I was told by the salesman that it was going to be hard to get to my payments even though I made the cardinal sin of not negotiating the sticker price. All said and done with I had a higher payment than I wanted and a financing program taylored to give Bill Heard a nice profit off of me.

Then came my second chance... The finance manger for Bill Heard called me up and told me that they had lower payments for me and that I needed to come in and sign some paper work. Come to find out, no bank would buy the contract that Bill Heard wrote for me when I purchased my truck so they had to write another one so that a bank would accept it. Now they were trying to lease me the truck. I went in to discuss the matter and told them I was not leasing a truck that I wanted to purchase it for 72mos. The financing manger went and spoke with "whoever" and all of the sudden the sticker price was 10% less than the amount used when I originally purchased the truck and my payment was 50.00 more a month but no large balloon payment. Its amazing how they will take money off when they are desperate, just take my advice and play hard ball dont give in and not negotiate no matter what they say they can and cant do there is always a car dealership somewhere that will satisfy you... But its not going to be Bill Heard.

For all of the car buyers out there, the advantage that I had was since not back would buy my original contract I had the right to ask for my trade-in back and give them back the truck that I had driven for a whole week no questions asked if I didnt want to negotiate a new contract. Once the dealership found out that I knew I had the ball in my court they did as much as they could to make sure I left with that truck and not my trade-ins therefore they dropped the sticker price. I probally could have gotten even a lower sticker price but did not want to spend all saturday at the dealership.
