Having already paid for a Biography, I was rung again on the pretext of a "courtesy call" purported to be "regarding the biography". During the call, the representative made a comment about writing up a Press Release and asking if I would please check the details in the draft. He did NOT state that this was an ADDITIONAL product which was entirely SEPARATE from the Biography - nor did he ask me if I wished to purchase it, nor explain the difference. He added that $578 would "wrap it up for me". I asked several questions asking what this meant as I was confused because I had already paid a fee but was told that it would be explained on the breakdown he would send. This supposed breakdown stated "This is not an invoice". I have contacted the company whose only response is to offer a discount on the condition that I sign an Agreement stating that I agree with everything - which obviously I don't. Their defence is that the information I was sent advised that I would be contacted by a Sales Representative. I consider that this is misrepresentation - the Sales Agent failed to represent himself as such and said it was a merely a "courtesy call"; he also failed to present the item for sale as BEING such. This is entirely unethical.
