When I first purchased home in 1987 received monies from city to assist in purchase. Refinanced in 1986 with Citifinancial which paid off city lien. Paid off citifinancial in 2006 and CDA loan. Trying to do another refinance and city is saying they were never paid back in 1986 so they still have a lien on home.
Citifinancial does not have list of accounts paid off in 2006 because account was closed after pay-offd. Only has Letter of Satisfaction.
Unable to get city representative to resolve problem. I can't prove I paid them and they don't have any records to show that I paid other then the computations showing what I should have paid.
Have been trying to get resolution since March. Mr. Cole says last option is to bring before Financial Committee Meeting. I've been waiting for several months to get him to take it before the Financial Committee.
He no longer returns my calls. Called the office of City Council Representative to help in resolution of problem. They called Mr. Cole spoke to him once and has had no communication since 5/21.
I don't know what else to do. I can't the house refinanced with the lien still on home. Help!!!
