Wow, Let me tell you my story. While my wife and I were eating dinner we recieved a phone call from a very persistant young woman saying if we give them $249.00 we too would get the $2000.00 unsecured mastercard and that we would "WITHOUT A DOUBT HAVE IT BEFORE CHRISTMAS" (exact quote). Being the person I am I was about to hang up but thought "you know what? 2 grand sure would be usefull around christmas time". So like a fool I fell for it.
On Nov. 19 the $249.00 was to be withdrawn from my account. But 3 days before I used my check card to buy a pack of cigaretts and 20 dollars in gas which put my account at $247.83. Lucky for me. I called CENTURION FINANCE when I realizied I owed the bank a fee for not having the full $249.00. Unlike the rest of you I actually got through to a live person. When I asked if they could take the money out on a different date the woman said yes that would not be a problem. But when I asked if I would still receive the card before christmas she told me that I would not have gotten the card by christmas anyway.
I was furious and told the woman that I would like to speak to her supervisor, at which time she told that she did not have a supervisor and that there was no one for me to talk to but her and also there was nothing that could be done about it. Then she hung up on me. So I called back and got someone on the line again. I told them to send me directly to a boss of some kind. When the phone was answered I told the woman that I was hung up on and that I wanted to know why I was lied to about receiving the card before christmas. She told me that I was not told that and that I was laying to her about it. So I asked to speak with her boss and the call was ended.
That was the last time I spoke to anyone there and that was 1 month ago. I have tried countless times to call but all it does is go directly to an answering service.
I was lucky. Thanks to this web site I called my bank and told them that this was a fraud and to block them from my account and it has been done, thanks guys. Something should be done so does'nt happen to anyone else.
