Sent me a check for $3891.38 and told me to send $3000.00 for Shipping and Handling and Taxes. They gave me a name and phone number to call and activate the check. The name of the claims manager is Barnes Mason, and they have four different addresses on the inside letter and a different address on the envelope. They told me that I won the lottery of the prize $250,000 and the check for $3891.38 was a portion of my winnings. I know I should have known better. But I would like to know how to stop scam artists from targeting me.
