I took a direct hit from a tree during hurricane Irene. After haggling with Liberty Mutual claims on and off for months (meanwhile I had a 3'X10' foot hole in my roof) I finally took the lowest of three estimates I received which led me to wait the longest for repairs. Liberty then proceeded to short me over $4100 because they use a arbitary 3rd party to attain hourly rates etc. But they couldnt identify the name of the company or supply me with info. On how to use them to do any repair work though? Strange.
Its called a "racket" "a ruse" they low ball the claim to pad THEIR pockets. Reduce damages etc..
Its called dishonest and I went all the way to the top. They dont care that I was on the roof in the middle of a hurricane mitigating damages that would have caused them an additional $15-25 thousand though. Followed by months of rearranging tarps and plastic buckets. Plain and simple. Careful here folks, if you rely on Liberty Mutual you WILL relive a not so fun part of history.);
