I filed for unemployment the beginning of November when my hours were cut to 40 a month! I used the web portal to claim the first 2 weeks than for only 1 week because I had earnings for the other week. Never received payment for any of the three. The next time I called the phone number and still didn't receive payment. I finally got the phone payment 4 weeks late on the last day of December. I got a letter stating I never claimed the other 3 weeks. I protested because I used the online claim portal and I had two other friends that had claimed in November online and they never received those payments either. Waited a month and got a letter stating I didn't have cause to not file for those weeks, so I had lost them? My friends were denied all their benefits from that month too. It was a glitch with the state's system that they wouldn't honor. I think it was done on purpose to keep Michigan's uemployment numbers down and that is probably why we lost the 4th tier (like the legislative wanted). I don't belive are numbers are down in unemployment, people who fell off the roles, given the run around (like me) and the claim number where you can never get through and talk to a live person! This state sucks, and the whole country needs an overhaul if not a revolution!
