I am part owner of a masonry company, initially is was 51% and 49% me having less, and family owned. I answered all the questions truthfully online for unemp benifits. I received a letter around chiristmas time in 2012 saying i owe more then $4,000 back to them. I was told before 3 times by people at unemployment, that i was allowed to get 20 weeks because of my percentage. So i have tried to protest it, and i received a affidavit to fill out, and the very next day they sent two letters, first redetermination, i have to pay that amount, next letter, 2nd notice for payment! Im pulling my hair out, i can't get anyone to talk to me, the lady at the mi overpayment collection, was nasty, and i decided to pay last night, and i went to pay online, and they are showing i owe over $8,000 on there! No one will help, i get redirected to someone else, no answers, i am unemployed, i have no paycheck and no unemployment, i was getting $126 unemployment before, i dont understand how they can come up with this amount, and mostof all it was them, they messed up, they told me i was eligable, and gave it to me, my family is in hardship, but after dealing with that lady today, i paid what i could, so they will leave me alone, i have lost my faith in this state!!
