I pay my bills on line and mistakenly put the wrong date (march 7 instead of March 14) for the payments to be taken from the checking account. I called and explained this asking for consideration. TD Bank put back 3 I.F. Fees of $105.00 and charged us for 8 ($280.00).
In April, My husband mailed out checks 2 days ahead of time and they came through 1 day before my SS check (4/10) AND ON THE 10TH. They said it was the ninth... My on-line statement shows it was the 10th.
They returned 2 checks, less than $20.00 each, on the 10th, so now I will pay a fee for that.
TD Bank knows all we have is SS and a small Nurse pension. Husband is 82 and I am 75, we make mistakes and we expect to pay a 'reasonable' penalty.in the past 3 months, over $6oo. Oo has been charged to our account.
We have automatic deposit so the bank knows the money will be there... And these charges are always just hours or a day away of the SS check being deposited. TD Bank should be looking to help us instead of finding a way to take more money from us.
Please let me know if you can help us.
Thank you for whatever you can do. Leah and Milton (Personal Information Removed)
