I went to Tower Tax Group for them to prepare my 2012 taxes. Elvira from there, called me a couple days later and said she had my federal taxes ready, but was having trouble with the state. She said they were having trouble loading the Colorado State tax program. I picked up my Federal and waited for her to call about my state tax. When I didn't hear from her for a couple of days, I called and left a message. I left a message, sometimes two every day until someone called me back. I finally received a call back 4 days later from someone else who stated Elvira was really sick and hadn't been into work. She said I could come and pick up my state paperwork as it was done now. I picked it up and said it'd been almost 2 weeks since Elvira said she E-filed my federal return. I was expecting a refund and hadn't received it yet. The lady said it takes anywhere from 8-21 business days. So I waited. I then called Elvira again and left several messages over the course of a week and even went to their office in the middle of the day and no one was there. No one returned my calls and I finally quit calling. I wanted to find out for sure from Elvira that she had indeed E-filed my federal return and exactly what date she did this. I gave her my personal information. Social security #, routing and account number from my bank. I have NEVER received a call back from anyone. I then found out you can go on the IRS website and check on your E-filed return. I did so and there was NO information there, meaning she never did E-file my return yet she has all of my information. Now I am concerned that my Social Security number may be used by someone else (Identity theft) or worse yet she can get into my bank account. This is obviously no way to do business.
