I was contacted about help with a mortgage modification with Chase Bank. I was happy to hear of this as I had tried twice before to get a modification and it was denied both times. I was assured that this compant had worked with Chase many times and they would get me a modification, I sent one check for $1000 and the second one for $995 a month later. At first, I was able to reach my case worker, Angela and then suddenly. It was someone else named ANdy... At the time of signing the contract. I was told to miss 2 payments. Ie. Dec. 2012 and Jan. 2013.. And the contract declares that my money would be returned if they weren't able to get me a modification. At first I could reach my case worker but then beginning in late January. I would call and leave messages and never received a return call. I must have called 100 times... On Mar. 8 I had a message when I returned home to call Andy. (the last case worker) and he told me what happened. That all the 300 plus files were boxed and put in storage. The company name has changed to Family First Home Preservation or something close to that. The owner goes by Toby West or Todd West. He is a licensed realtor in California...
I don't know where to begin with this but he must be stopped... I borrowed the $200 to do this and now I still owe that plus have nothing... What can you suggest?
