I noticed a charge for $10.60 on my debit card statement for SportsAbsolute.com in Miramar. I did some research to see who/what they are. I came across a website that is supposed to be a place to purchase sports equipment, however there was no way to contact anyone. I know I never authorized the charges and I never buy sports equipment (online or offline). Something similar happened last year for the same amount but a different sports company. I was able to speak to someone from that company who said that they were aware that someone was using their company name but that they were not actually the ones processing the purchase. They were kind enough to refund my money (without me asking) even though they did not take it in the first place. Also the other day I noticed a charge for approximately $25 for CPA services in Oregon (I live in WA state). I spoke to the Owner of the CPA office and he said that this happens all the time and that it was not actually his office charging the cards. They actually stopped taking credit/debit cards so that they could prove that they were not doing the fraudulent acts. This is frustrating! I am not a wealthy man. I barely scrap by on my salary. I struggle to buy med for my two special needs kids and I have some jerk taking my money to buy sports junk! I hope when these scumbags are caught they will get punished to the full extend of the law!
