Wirlpool refuses to pay expenses related to a factory install issue. We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half and a nut holding up the main pulley and belt vibated off. A Whirlpool customer servie rep initially told us that if we had their factory repair service come out, it would be possible covered if it was not a wear and tear issue but a factory problem. I wrote a letter including receipts explaining that the nut had not been tighened properly or restrained properly at the factory which allowed it over time to work loose. They just said it is not a recall and not a hazzard so they don't cover it after one year. I then talked with the supervisor who said the same thing. I then asked her to put it in writing as to why they were denying my claim and she said it is Whirlpools policy to just give a phone call. I again asked for a written response and all she would say is she could send me a copy of the warantee. I asked for an appeal to her decision and she refused to give me anyone with more authority. I then asked for information about how to contact the legal division for Whirlpool and she refused saying I would have to contact my own attorney.
