I received a call that I had won the ability to be entered into a sweepstakes and also won a gift basket. I must purchase a magazine subscription to receive said gifts. But I was free to cancel at any time. After the first charge and no magazines or gifts, I contacted Southwest Periodical and spoke to CSR Melanie. I explained I had not received anything, had recently become unemployed and would like to cancel my account. She informed me that they prepay the account and ask that I work with them. She said they would suspend billing for 60 days and if nothing changed I could call back by 2-20-13 and cancel. I called today spoke with CSR Julienne and was told the same prepay story and that they could hold billing for an additional 30 days. She asked if lowering my monthly payments would help and i explained that with no job and no income lowering the payments wouldnt help. She stated that i could call back in 30 days if no change in employment and they would continue to work with me. She then wished me the best of luck.
