Travelocity - Worst experience for EVERY trip so far! - Cancellation Fees

There is a major blizzard hitting our state (CT) right now. The roads will be closed on the governor's orders at noon today 2/8. Knowing that we still need to make this trip happen in the near future, we thought Travelocity would be willing to hold or postpone our reservations (2 hotels and a one way flight on American Airlines) for a future date.instead our service representative wanted to levy cancellation fees on one hotel that would actually cost more than just not showing up at all. Then, instead of trying work with the Airlines on our behalf, I was given the number of AA's customer service and told to deal with it myself. Because of the impending weather, there was at least a 60 minute wait to speak with the airlines. We resorted to calling each hotel manager ourselves and upon explaining our situation, were met with very understanding and sympathetic folks who know how to deal with contingencies. So far, all I can gather from Travelocity is that they know how to collect fees without regard to the reasons why their customer's travel plans change. Did I really want to stay in CT with a blizzard rather than sit on a beach in Miami? By the way, did I mention that this was the second chance we gave Travelocity to handle our travel arrangements? The first time, they changed another airline reservation for a major trip overseas that would have caused us to leave 24 hours earlier than our original itinerary. Never ever ever using Travelocity again!!!
