On January 2nd (considered the holiday that year), I found out that my mother had someone come to her door and tell her they had an appointment to clear her air ducts. She allowed this man inside and she ultimately wrote him a check for $916.95 and was unsure about what work he had actually done. She is an elderly person and was caught off guard, I believe because it was a holiday. On her caller ID, there were 2 calls from a Salvadore Mota. I called the number on the receipt at 800 243 8108 and I was told that my mother made an appointment. When I asked for the individuals name, interestly, he gave me his name as that of one of my out of state cousins who happens to have a construction business. I told him I wanted my mothers money back and he told me that the 'appointment' had been recorded. I told him I would call the police and he hung up. Ten minutes later I got a call from 'Martin', caller ID: Restorations at 714 389 3926. He said he had owned the company for 20 years and he was an honest business person. I asked for the company address since it was not on the receipt, he gave me a garbled street address on Red Hill. I was never able to find the business. I went to the city and asked if the company had a business license and I was told they did not have one and that the business owner told the city he did not need one for duct cleaning when they called him.
