Received a gift card from my son from McBain Camera and have the receipt for proof of purchase.
Went to this location (for i live out of the city and went to meet family for dinner) to purchase a protective cover for my lens and while browsing i found a flash at a reasonable price.
The young man serving was great however when they went in to activate my gift card it would not work! There were 2 other staff there so one of them entered information from the receipt into the computer and it did show that the gift card was purchased under my name from another McBain outlet.
The other staff was a young lady and she commended that accounting was having problems with some of the gift cards! They also stated that maybe the person from the other location entered it wrong.
The young man then called Nicole the manager and her suggestion was to ask where i lived, pay for my purchase with my $70.00 gift card and pay for the remainder which would have been approximately $80 to $90 dollars and she would mail my purchase to the nearest post office.
I find this totally unacceptable that a company would ask a customer to pay for something while in the store with the merchandise on the counter and expect me to leave without anything but a receipt after presenting the receipt proof of purchase with the gift card. I had very little faith that i would have received anything.
