Management has been made aware of everything I'm about to tell you in this lengthy complaint. Management at the Kindred Healthcare Hospital at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver Pennsylvania. Patients at this Kindred have been sexually assulted by a respiratory therapist. Medications that are dier to the patients health have either been given hours late or not even at all and documented as if they were given on time by nurses and respiratory therapists. Bandages and trach dressings are not being changed and skin breakdown is being caused by the negligence. A wrongful death was just reported recently and is under investigation there too. An RN has been diverting narcotics from patients and taking them for herself along with giving them to an opiate dependant RT. When you speak to them while they're under the influence will literally fall asleep while standing or at the drop of a hat! These are people who take care of our loved ones! This RT and RN also have been seen drinking down at a bar while they are still on the clock at work! They will leave the hospital premices while on the clock for almost hrs at a time during their twelve hr shifts. There is an RT there that has lied on his employment application almost nine years ago that he is a registered respiratory therapist but he is only a certified respiratory therapist and he's making a registered respiratory therapists wages! Kindred's handbook requires that all new employees be drug tested, but they don't drug test them, they falsify their records saying that the employees that have been hired are clean. Night shift employees have been caught sleeping on the clock in empty patients rooms, in dictation rooms, and back in the administration rooms. RN Lindsey has taken medical supplies from Kindreds stock room home for her own benefits. She also was caught having an affair with CRT John Arnaut in Kindreds parking lot while both of them were still on the time clock. They both have been seen drinking at a close bar while on the time clock then coming back to work to take care of critical patients. Alcohol has been smelled on both of their breath and the supervisor told them both to chew some gum before they give report to daylight employees. This is a for profit hospital and they can't take a hit of losing to many employees. I thought healthcare was about the patients and their needs not about whether they have enough staff to take on new patients. I'm begging that this complaint be taken seriously and honestly investigated. CRT John F. Arnaut was just recently in Trumbull County jail on Jan 8 - Jan 9 for domestic violence and now can't come within 500 ft of his wife and four kids and is on probation. Do you want your loved one who needs cared for to be taken care of by someone who hurts/abuses the ones he's supposed to love most, what happens if he gets upset at one of the patients?
