Isolatek International (makers of CAFCO) unfairly terminated dedicated employee. Employee was so dedicated to job that they put health in jeopardy and ultimately lost a kidney due to company attendance policy. Company was advised what the employee was facing but told them that if they left to go get health issue taken care of, that their job was going to be lost.
Employee decided to put off treatment of illness (because he was not protected by the Federal Medical Leave Act whose rules and regulations state one year employment was needed to qualify). FMLA would have prevented employer from firing them legally for taking time off for health issue. The company fires the employee exactly ONE month before year was up. Employee missed days due to severe kidney damage but on 2 occasions was SENT home invoulantarily and yet the absences were counted against employee.
Uncaring, selfish and greedy company.
