I used Legal Zoom to file my LLC just fine, at first. Seemed really easy and efficient. Two days later, I got a call saying that my first name choice was taken so could we use the second? Sure, no prob. Two (business) days later, I called to cancel the free Business Advantage month trial they offer everyone and change the cc on my account. Somehow, they managed to put a hold on my llc order and pending cancellation of the entire thing instead. That was on Friday early in the day. The following Wednesday, late in the afternoon, I got a VM from them that there was both a problem with my LLC AND if I want to cancel, to call the 800-number back. So I did, and the guy just couldn't figure it out.in the meantime, he suggested to me that I expedite my LLC by paying some $115 for the Gold processing, and told me that THEIR ERROR IN HOLDING/CANCELING MY LLC ORDER MAY HAVE BEEN A BLESSING IN DISGUISE BECAUSE OTHERWISE I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO EXPEDITE! When I asked if they were going to give it to me—considering the Gold processing only expedites Legal Zoom's end of it, not the state's—he had to transfer me to someone knowledgeable about the products, he said. So he did, and the next guy tried to help but had no power to do any type of discount. He also told me the same thing about the possibility of having it expedited through Gold processing considering the unnecessary delay. He also told me that in fact the 25-30 business days' turnaround time I was told by the previous rep is wrong, it's actually 40 with the state of CA. He told me to call the Escalations team, which I did this morning. I spoke with a woman who was less than cordial, explained things in an unnecessarily confusing way—well, it says on the website, which you clearly didn't read, that with your economy package Legal Zoom has 35 business days to complete your application, so your order isn't actually late at all, but the state has 40 business days." "So when will my application be sent off?" "Monday at the latest." What??!?? And did she actually just accuse me of not reading the information? Me, a small business owner, with everything on the line, paying them hundreds of dollars to supposedly make the LLC process EASIER? Honestly, I should have done it myself and it would have been less stressful. She seemed truly exasperated with me at my lack of understanding based on the different information I'd been given by now 3 reps within 24 hours or less, even huffing and puffing audibly on the line and guffawing at my questions that were simply clarifying turnaround times and prices.in the end, the Gold processing expediting was not even an option according to the Escalations rep because at this point it wouldn't change the time Legal Zoom takes to get my LLC application package sent off to the state. Or so that's what she said. No kind of offer was made to me, any kind of discount off of what I paid, no future services that I may need. She just said, sorry YOU misinterpreted the information you've been given. I replied, well that doesn't really help me as a customer at all and I am not impressed, I can't say that I will use you guys again. Just take the unnecessary hold off my order now please. And that was it.
