Corporate Tax Network was recommended to us by LegalZoom when we started our LLC. We had issue with LegalZoom as well, and think Corporate Tax Network is a scam: they promised to help us do our taxes, which is what you pay an accountant for. They never did. Worse, because of their failure to provide the services promised, we had to pay a $50 fine to the NY State Tax Department, because our "accountant" did not tell us we needed to file these with the State.
But it gets even worse: we have to file our taxes online for 2012. The problem is, their website does not work. I keep getting error messages, they keep saying they will fix it, but it is not fixed. I thought we paid almost $2000 monthly fees for the accountants to do our taxes but NO! We have to do our own taxes, with absolutely NO advise on what is best to do for tax benefits and for a higher tax refund! Nothing! You call, you are on hold for 30 minutes (and I have proof of that just like I have proof of every single word I am writing here), with a supposedly accountant who doesn't guide you on how to answer the wonky online questionaire that logs you out every 3 minutes, and who tells you to write the answers you know.
After MANY attempts to reach out to an accountant, to a manager, to the account manager, we have given up and know that they will NEVER provide any help for us and that we are basically screwed for our 2012 taxes. We have to hire a REAL accountant that will actually provide HELP and INSIGHT and WILL file the taxes HIMSELF! This is going to cost us a lot of money and we have wasted to much time already — We want a full refund. I understand the monthly fees are not refundable, but we want a full refund for the amount we paid in August. It would also be nice if CTN could make it right and refund our tax penalty of $50 that they let us have because they were not following up with us or advising us on taxes, as they should have done. I have tried to reach out to Corporate Tax Network an unbelievable amount of time, but they are ignoring me and not responding my phone calls or my emails. Please help.
