Somehow I got on their e-mail list. I continuously get junk e-mail from some outfit that sends out junk mail for them. This outfit seems to have a mechanism to change the sending address so it cannot be blocked by normal Outlook spam checkers. The e-mail supposedly gives instructions as to how to unsubscribe. However it is just a racket to get you to go to their web site. If you don't have an "account" with them how can you know your password?
For anybody at Contra Costa Times... Junk mail like this will NEVER make people want to get your newspaper. It is just going to annoy them more. Wake up and get a newspaper agent that customers will relate to. Other companies have a simple one line in their junk e-mails that clicking on it unsubscribe the potential customer.
To everybody else. Avoid giving your e_mail address to anybody associated with the contra costa times or their newspaper distributors.
