TigerDirect.com offer a $100.00 rebate on a HP Compaq D-510 computer. However, in order to get the rebate one must go to the website (onrebate.com) and enter the name of the product.
The problem is that the website does nothing after you enter the information and click on (submit). You get no confirmation and the page you just completed just keeps coming up again and again.
I sent an e-mail to TigerDirect.com using the e-mail contact form provided on their website. I recieved a reply, saying I must use a correct TigerDirect e-mail address.
I the sent an e-mail to [email protected]. I had gotten that address from a rebuttal written by a Lonny Paul from TigerDirect which I found on this website. Finally, yesterday I recieved an e-mail containing a confirmation number. This e-mail said to go to a provided link (onrebate.com) and enter my e-mail
address and the confirmation number they had provided, and then print the form to get the rebate.
However, I again recieved a reply saying to enter the
confirmation number again correctly and try again. But the number was already correct.
TigerDirect has jerked me around now until the offered rebate The scam is that they made it impossible for me to get the rebate. I had 30 days from the date of the sale to get the rebate. I purchased the computer
on 06/25/04 and it is now 07/22/04.
I believe that TigerDirect has no intention to pay a rebate. They jerk people around until it is too late to get the rebates.
And there is on more thing. The products offered by TigerDirect have reviews which one can read regarding the product. Anyone can write a review, but that review, according to them must be checked by management and approved before it can be used.
As you can imagine, they get no bad reviews, and this also is a scam.
